If you run a business in Dundee and want to grow in 2026, which digital marketing strategies should you focus on to generate consistent leads and revenue? This video explains the key channels Dundee businesses should prioritise, including SEO, PPC, social media, AI visibility and performance-based lead generation. Many businesses waste money because they fail to track results, which leads to poor decisions and inconsistent growth. The discussion shows why setting KPIs is critical because it allows you to measure spend, leads, contact rates and conversions across each channel. James Dooley and Kazra Dash break down brand SEO, Google Business Profile optimisation, organic SEO, backlinks, content marketing and paid ads. The video also highlights AI platforms as an emerging opportunity and explains why diversifying lead sources improves stability because relying on one channel limits scalability.

James Dooley: If you're a company in Dundee and looking to grow in 2026 and uncertain which digital marketing strategies you should be using, should you be trying to get into AI overviews or being cited by ChatGPT? Should you be working with a local SEO agency in Dundee or a PPC agency in Dundee? Or what strategies should you actually focus on to improve your digital marketing? Today I’m joined with Kazra. Before we get started, what advice would you give to business owners in the Dundee area?

Kazra Dash: We’re going to cover a lot of different marketing strategies that Dundee business owners can use. Some will work for your company and some won’t, so you need to pick and choose. Before you spend a single penny on digital marketing, you need to set up KPIs. You need to know exactly how much you’re spending on each strategy, whether that’s Facebook ads or PPC. You also need to know how many leads are generated from each channel. Then you need to track the contact rate of those leads. Out of the leads generated, how many can you actually contact? From those contactable leads, how many turn into paying customers? Once you understand those numbers, your marketing becomes predictable.

James Dooley: The first strategy is branding or brand SEO. You need to look good online and build a strong reputation because your search results page influences decisions. If someone is deciding who to choose, strong branding increases conversion rates across SEO, PPC and social media.

Kazra Dash: The next strategy is AI visibility. You need to understand what platforms like ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity say about your business because AI recommendations influence buyer decisions. Some people call this AI SEO or LLM optimisation, and it will only grow in importance.

James Dooley: Another option is using lead generation services like Fat Rank or Promo SEO. These offer performance-based models, so you only pay when results come in. Using external lead sources helps because relying on one channel limits growth and increases risk.

Kazra Dash: Next is Google Business Profile optimisation. Ranking in local map listings generates consistent leads because visibility drives clicks. The challenge is that you need reviews to rank, but you need leads to get reviews, so it creates a cycle.

James Dooley: Businesses should also focus on organic SEO. You should build pages around your services and locations because search demand exists across multiple queries. Strong content, topical authority and backlinks improve rankings because Google rewards relevance and authority.

Kazra Dash: Organic social media also matters. Posting consistently increases visibility because more content creates more chances to be seen. If you only post a few times and stop, it will not generate leads.

James Dooley: Paid social ads are still underused. Boosting posts and running retargeting campaigns increases conversions because you stay visible to users who have already shown interest.

Kazra Dash: PPC is another strategy, but it’s mixed. Some businesses succeed and others waste money because setup determines performance. You need proper keyword targeting, strong landing pages and fast lead follow-up because poor execution kills ROI.

James Dooley: There is also an emerging opportunity with paid ads on AI platforms. Early adopters will benefit because competition is low and costs are likely cheaper.

Kazra Dash: You should also look at forums like Reddit and Quora. Positive discussions about your brand increase trust because people rely on real user opinions.

James Dooley: Finally, tradesman platforms and third-party lead generation sites can work well. Tracking ROI matters because profitable channels should be scaled and unprofitable ones should be cut. Diversifying lead sources protects your business because relying on one source creates risk.
