James Dooley: If you're a Dudley based business looking to grow in 2026 but uncertain what digital marketing strategies you should be using, should you be trying to use a Dudley based SEO agency or a PPC agency that's based in the Dudley area, or should you be looking for a freelance lead generation service that can generate you more enquiries for your Dudley based business? These are all questions that we get asked quite a lot. But before spending any money on marketing, Kazra, what advice would you give to entrepreneurs and business owners for a Dudley based business?
Kasra Dash: So, if you are a Dudley based business owner, what I would recommend doing prior to spending any money is setting up some KPIs. You want to know exactly how much money you're spending on your digital marketing efforts. Next, you want to know how many leads have been generated per channel. Maybe you're spending money on Facebook ads and SEO. You want to figure out how many leads have been generated via SEO and how many leads have been generated via Facebook ads. Next, you want to look at those generated leads and understand the contact rate. Has it been five out of the last ten leads that you've been able to contact, or has it been two out of the last ten leads? And last but not least, out of the contacted leads, you want to figure out how many of them have actually turned into paying customers or clients for your business. Once you have all of those numbers in place, that is when digital marketing becomes a lot more predictable.
James Dooley: So, what strategies should Dudley based businesses be looking at to generate more leads and enquiries?
Kasra Dash: The first one has got to be branding or brand SEO and making sure you're looking good online and have a strong reputation. Everything needs to start with a positive brand search result of who you are and what you do. That will improve your conversion rate on paid ads and social media because when people check you before choosing, your brand influences the decision.
James Dooley: My next strategy is AI visibility. More companies are starting to look into this. What do ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok and Perplexity say about your brand or your business? Is it positive or negative? You also need to understand what they say about your competitors and improve your positioning. Some people call it AI SEO, others call it GEO or LLM optimisation, but it will be a major factor in 2026 and beyond.
Kasra Dash: Another strategy is using performance based lead generation services like Fat Rank or Promo SEO. It is important to generate your own leads, but outsourcing some of your lead generation gives you diversification. That reduces risk because you are not relying on one channel.
James Dooley: Next is Google Business Profile optimisation. This is local SEO through Google Maps. You want to build your profile and get more reviews. The benefit is consistent leads once you rank. The challenge is getting enough reviews to compete because you need leads to get reviews, which creates a cycle.
Kasra Dash: After that comes organic SEO. You should be building your website to rank for your services and locations. Creating pages targeting your service and area increases visibility because people search for local services. You also need quality content, topical authority and backlinks to strengthen rankings.
James Dooley: Organic social media is another channel. It works as a numbers game because consistency drives visibility. Posting regularly with useful content like guides, how to content and before and after examples increases engagement and leads.
Kasra Dash: Paid social ads build on that. If you are already posting content, boosting posts with a small budget increases reach. Retargeting ads bring back visitors who did not convert, which improves conversion rates because they already know your brand.
James Dooley: PPC is another option but it divides opinion. Some businesses waste money because campaigns are poorly set up. Others scale heavily because they have the right structure. It works when you control negative keywords, prevent click fraud, use strong landing pages and respond quickly to leads.
Kasra Dash: Paid ads on AI platforms are emerging. ChatGPT and other AI tools may introduce ads, which could create early opportunities for cheap leads because competition will be lower at the start.
James Dooley: You should also look at forums like Reddit and Quora. If customers recommend your business, it builds trust and increases visibility because people rely on real opinions.
Kasra Dash: That also feeds into AI visibility because AI tools often reference forum discussions. Positive mentions help your brand appear stronger in AI generated results.
James Dooley: Finally, tradesman platforms like Checkatrade, Bark, Rated People and MyBuilder can generate leads. You need to track ROI because performance determines whether they are worth continuing.
Kasra Dash: The key point across all of these strategies is tracking KPIs and return on ad spend. When you measure performance properly, you scale what works and cut what does not. That is how you grow a Dudley based business through digital marketing in 2026.
James Dooley: And remember to diversify your lead sources. Relying on one channel creates risk because if it fails, your leads stop. Multiple channels create stability and growth.
Kasra Dash: Exactly. Use a mix of strategies, track everything and focus on what delivers real customers.
James Dooley: Thank you very much, Kazra.
