If you want scalable, high-quality plumbing leads, this episode gives you the exact roadmap.

James Dooley: Today, we're talking about how to generate more high-quality and consistent leads for your plumbing business. I’m joined by Kasra, and we’re breaking down the strategies you can use to grow your plumbing company. Kasra Dash: Step one is your Google Business Profile. If you already have one, reach out to all existing clients and get as many five-star reviews as possible. GBP is one of the best ways to generate local leads. You should also build citations, post regularly, and upload fresh photos. Kasra Dash: Step two is creating dedicated, SEO-optimized service pages for every individual service. This helps those pages rank, and it also increases the chance your Google Business Profile ranks for those same keywords—so you get more phone calls. James Dooley: If you're looking for more local leads, PPC lead generation is another option. That’s pay-per-click on Google or Bing targeting bottom-of-funnel keywords. The challenge is you must work with a good PPC agency because of click fraud, and you need a strong negative keyword list so you don’t attract job-seekers or irrelevant traffic. PPC works well, but in the wrong hands, it can waste a lot of money. Kasra Dash:

You can also use Meta ads on Facebook and Instagram. People might see your ad while scrolling. There are two main setups: lead forms (quick but lower quality) and conversion ads (sends them to your website for a higher-quality lead). Lead forms can work better if you add extra qualifying questions.

James Dooley: Another option for more local leads is organic social media. Posting regularly on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Pinterest, Instagram, Reddit, and Quora can help. Organic social is great for answering questions and building trust. Kasra Dash: Organic content is a volume game. Stick to a posting schedule—like five videos a week—especially for platforms like YouTube and Twitter. James Dooley: What are your thoughts on using AI agents or automations like N8N to crop videos and schedule posts? Should people consider teaming up with an AI consultant for this? Kasra Dash: You definitely can. AI agents can crop videos and auto-publish content across multiple platforms. But another thing to focus on is AI search. Some people are shifting from Google to engines like ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, and Grok. If your brand doesn’t show up there, you’ll miss out on leads. Companies should optimize for AI search as well. James Dooley: Another way to get more local leads is through tradespeople websites like Checkatrade, Bark, Builder Builder, TrustATrader, and Rated People. Track your KPIs so you know your cost per lead, cost per acquisition, and ROI. These platforms can work well if monitored properly. We also have videos comparing each one with FatRank. James Dooley: Since we’ve mentioned FatRank, what’s your take on lead generation companies versus tradespeople platforms? Kasra Dash: For any lead generation company, do your due diligence. Make sure they’ve generated leads in your niche before. Have a strategy call to check if your budget and KPIs align. Ask what kind of leads they send—exclusive or shared. Shared leads often turn into a race to the bottom on price, which many business owners complain about. James Dooley: If you want more local leads, head over to FatRank.com. We use a commission-based lead generation service—meaning you only pay a finder’s fee when the job converts. No pay-per-lead fees, and no upfront cost. You only pay once you’ve completed and been paid for the job. James Dooley: Kasra, what’s your take on inbound vs outbound lead generation? Kasra Dash: I always prefer inbound. The conversion rate is much higher. The last stat I saw was 16.1% for inbound leads converting into paying customers, compared to 1.4% for outbound leads. James Dooley: That’s huge—10 to 12 times more conversion. Outbound requires a lot of volume and often more staff. People think outbound is “free,” but there are still email costs, tools, and labor. Kasra Dash: Exactly. Inbound is typically better. But some people also ask whether real-time leads matter. For local services, real-time leads are extremely important. James Dooley: Our internal data showed that real-time leads convert about 63% higher. We used to think responding within five minutes was good, but responding within one minute boosts conversion dramatically. Kasra Dash: Not every company needs a one-minute response time, but many fail because they’re unavailable for days. That’s one of the things we look at before partnering with a company. Kasra Dash: If you're looking to scale with consistent, high-quality leads, fill out the FatRank form. The team will tell you if you're a good fit and explain why if you're not. James Dooley: Plumbers get a ton of “plumbers near me” searches, so there’s huge volume. Use these strategies to generate more plumbing leads, and make sure to head to FatRank.com to qualify.
