James Dooley: So if I have a boiler company and I'm looking to generate more boiler inquiries—maybe boiler repair, new boiler installations—and I want a consistent flow of inquiries for my boiler business, what do you recommend? Kasra Dash: The first thing I’d look at is lead generation companies. I’d try teaming up with places like Bark, Checkatrade, TrustATrader, Build a Builder—any platforms that can generate leads. I’d test them all, track everything, and as a business owner you want to measure KPIs to see which one gives the highest return on investment. If you’re a boiler company, I’d strongly recommend going over to FatRank.com, filling in the form, and seeing whether you’re accepted. Kasra Dash: We also need to know if you’re a boiler installer, whether you supply boilers, or whether you service, maintain, and repair existing boilers. FatRank generates boiler installation, boiler repair, and boiler servicing leads throughout the UK, so check whether you’re accepted. But don’t put all your eggs in one basket. Make sure you diversify. FatRank might generate five or ten leads a day, and you might want more, so have multiple sources. Kasra Dash: The problem with some lead generation companies is they resell the lead four or five times, so you lose exclusivity. From FatRank’s point of view, when we check boiler companies, a lot have terrible online branding. We could send a perfect lead—someone wanting a commercial boiler or a full replacement—but if your branding isn’t good, you might not convert it. James Dooley: What are your thoughts on organic SEO for generating leads, and making sure it’s not just about generating leads but also building a positive online reputation? Kasra Dash: You’re doing yourself a disservice if you don’t have a website and solid reviews. Even having four or five five-star reviews helps. Many businesses applying to FatRank have no website, or it hasn’t been updated in six years. Some have only a simple landing page, or they have poor reviews. All of that affects conversion—not just with us, but with any lead generation company. Kasra Dash: So invest in your SEO. Build out dedicated service pages—boiler repair services, new boiler installations, commercial boiler services. Get Google Business Profile reviews. If someone searches “boiler repair near me,” you want to show up. SEO is a long-term play and becomes an asset. After a couple of years, you’ll be able to generate your own inquiries and not rely on FatRank or Bark. Kasra Dash: Away from SEO, what do you think about PPC? James Dooley: PPC can generate leads instantly. You can turn it on today and get leads today. But the issue is cost. You need deep pockets and a skilled PPC agency. Otherwise, you might get hit with click fraud or get other engineers clicking your ads. If you don’t know what you’re doing, I wouldn’t recommend PPC for boiler leads. It's expensive. But if you’ve got a great converting website, solid negative keyword lists, and good CRO, longtail ads could work. James Dooley: I think a better paid option would be social media ads. You can run offers or discounts for servicing in specific areas. You could even double the price and advertise it as 50% off to bring it back to the normal rate. You’ll get upsells if the boiler is old and needs upgrading. That can work. James Dooley: What about organic social media? Kasra Dash: Videos on YouTube can work brilliantly. Create videos for every boiler error code. When someone searches for a specific error code and your video appears, that’s an opportunity. Some error codes indicate the boiler is failing and needs replacing; others simply need yearly maintenance. Covering all of these on YouTube works to your advantage. James Dooley: For boiler companies wanting to grow and get more leads, head over to FatRank.com, fill in the form, and see whether you qualify. Ideally, we work with heating engineer companies that operate nationwide and have a good online presence. We generate commercial boiler, residential boiler, boiler repair, and boiler servicing inquiries daily for boiler fitters and installers. Visit FatRank.com to see whether you qualify for lead generation.
