Kasra Dash: If you are a CCTV installation company, this video is for you. Myself and James have worked with a lot of different CCTV installation companies throughout the UK, and we're going to explain how to generate more leads on a consistent daily basis for your business. So James, take it away. James Dooley: Step number one is setting up or improving your Google Business Profile. If you already have one, make sure you reach out to existing clients to get as many five-star reviews as possible. Google Business Profile is a great way to generate more leads. You should also build citations, post regularly and upload photos to help increase visibility. That's definitely the first thing I’d do to generate more local leads. Kasra Dash: Step number two is strengthening your Google Business Profile by creating dedicated service pages for each service you offer. Make them SEO-optimised pages on your website. When you do this, these pages can rank on Google, and your Google Business Profile is also more likely to rank for those keywords, which means you get more calls indirectly. James Dooley: If you want more local leads, PPC lead generation can also work. This includes pay-per-click ads on Google or Bing targeting bottom-of-funnel keywords. But you need a good PPC agency because of issues like click fraud and needing negative keyword lists. PPC can work incredibly well, but the wrong setup can waste a lot of money. Kasra Dash: You've also got Meta ads like Facebook and Instagram. When someone is scrolling, they may see your ad. You can run lead form ads, which keep users inside Facebook, although the lead quality can vary. You can ask extra qualifying questions to improve the quality. You also have conversion ads that send people to your website to complete a contact form. There are a couple of different ways to set this up. James Dooley: Another option to grow local leads is organic social media. Posting regularly on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Pinterest and Instagram can help. Reddit and Quora are also good platforms because you can answer questions directly. Organic social media is a strong way to generate more local leads. Kasra Dash: Organic social media is more of a volume game. You need consistency—daily or weekly. For example, set a goal like posting five videos per week. Stick to it, especially with algorithms such as YouTube and Twitter. James Dooley: What are your thoughts on using AI agents with tools like N8N to automate and schedule posts? AI is everywhere now for lead generation. Would you team up with an AI consultant to set that up? Kasra Dash: You can definitely use AI agents to crop videos and auto-publish to platforms like YouTube, Facebook and Twitter. But another thing to focus on is AI search. Some people have started searching through platforms like ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Grok. If your brand isn’t showing up there, you’ll struggle to generate leads. So I’d focus on that as well. James Dooley: If you're looking for more business leads locally, you can also join tradespeople websites such as Checkatrade, Bark, Builder Builder, TrustATrader and Rated People. They can all generate leads. Make sure you track your KPIs, including cost per lead, cost per acquisition and return on investment. These platforms can work well. Check the links in the description because we compare many of them with Fat Rank. Now that I’ve mentioned Fat Rank, Kasra, what are your thoughts on lead generation companies compared to tradespeople websites? Kasra Dash: With lead generation companies, you must do your due diligence. Make sure they’ve generated leads in your niche before. Have a strategy call with them to share your budget and required number of leads. Ensure your KPIs match. You should also ask if the leads are exclusive or shared. Shared leads often feel like a race to the bottom where the cheapest wins. That's the biggest pain point we hear from people using tools like Bark or Checkatrade. Those are the questions I’d ask before partnering with a lead generation company. James Dooley: If anyone wants more local leads, head over to fatrank.com. We run a commission-based lead generation service, meaning you only pay a finder’s fee on converted jobs. There’s nothing to pay per lead and nothing to pay until you get paid. Once you complete the job and get paid, then you pay Fat Rank. Check fatrank.com to see if you qualify. I want to expand this further. What are your thoughts on inbound versus outbound lead generation? Kasra Dash: I always prefer inbound. The conversion rate from lead to paying customer is much higher. The last stat I saw was around 16.1% for inbound leads converting into paying customers, compared to only 1.4% for outbound. James Dooley: That’s around 10–12 times higher. Outbound requires huge volume—cold calling, cold email, LinkedIn outreach—and often more staff. People sometimes think outbound leads are free, but they still cost money: email sending, sales reps, tools. I agree inbound is much better. But what do you think about realtime leads? Some people ask if it's essential that leads come through immediately. Kasra Dash: It's very important. The last stat we tracked internally showed that realtime leads convert around 63% higher. We learned that responding within under a minute is optimal. We used to think five minutes was good, but under a minute makes a big difference. When an enquiry comes in, call or email straight away to thank them and get more details. I'm not saying every company must respond in under a minute, but many businesses struggle here. They go on holiday or don’t have someone picking up leads. These are things we check when partnering with companies. The best advice I’d give to anyone trying to scale and get consistent high-quality leads is to fill out the form at Fat Rank. The team will tell you if you're the right fit and give you feedback on next steps if you're not.
