To close, James Dooley and Kasra Dash dissect the difference between inbound and outbound lead generation—sharing striking conversion statistics and why real-time lead delivery dramatically increases the chance of turning inquiries into paying customers.

Kasra Dash: If you’re a company that does extension conversions, then this video is for you. We’re going to break down exactly what you should be doing from a marketing strategy standpoint to generate a consistent flow of inquiries. James and I have worked with a lot of different extension-conversion companies, so we know exactly what works and what doesn’t when it comes to marketing. So, James, take it away. James Dooley:

Step number one: focus on your Google Business Profile. If you already have one, reach out to all your existing clients and gather as many five-star reviews as possible. It’s a great way to generate more leads locally. You should also build citations, post regularly, and upload photos. That’s the first thing I’d do to generate more local leads.

Kasra Dash: Step number two goes hand in hand with your Google Business Profile — create dedicated SEO-optimised service pages for each of your services. This helps your website pages rank on Google, but it also increases the chances of your Google Business Profile showing up for those keywords, which means more inbound calls and inquiries. James Dooley: If you want more local leads, another option is PPC lead generation — pay-per-click ads on Google or Bing. You target bottom-of-funnel keywords to generate inquiries. The challenge is ensuring you’re working with a good PPC agency because there’s click fraud, and you need to build a strong negative keyword list so people looking for careers or jobs don’t waste your budget. PPC works great, but in the wrong hands, it can burn a lot of money. Kasra Dash: And then you’ve got Meta ads — Facebook and Instagram. When someone goes onto Facebook, they might see your ad in their feed. You can run lead-form ads, where the user never leaves the Facebook platform. They’re easy and quick, but the lead quality can be lower unless you add qualifying questions. You can also run conversion ads that send people to your website to fill out your contact form. There are a couple of approaches to choose from. James Dooley: Another way to grow local leads is organic social media — posting consistently on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Pinterest, Instagram, Reddit, or Quora. If people have questions and you can answer them, you can generate a lot of inbound interest. Kasra Dash: Organic social is really a volume game. You need consistency — maybe daily posts or at least five videos per week. Especially for platforms like YouTube and Twitter, consistency feeds the algorithm. James Dooley: What are your thoughts on using AI agents to automate social posting through tools like n8n? A lot of people are using AI to crop videos, schedule posts, and streamline the process. Would you partner with an AI consultant to set that up? Kasra Dash: Yes, you can absolutely use AI agents to crop videos and auto-publish to YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter. But another thing to focus on now is AI search. Some people are slowly moving away from traditional Google searches and are using ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, or Grok. If your brand isn’t showing up in AI search engines, you’ll face challenges generating leads. So that’s another priority. James Dooley: If you're looking for more local business leads, team up with trade-people websites: Checkatrade, Bark, Builder Builder, TrustATrader, and Rated People. These platforms can generate high volumes of leads. Track your KPIs — cost per lead, cost per acquisition, and ROI. We also have videos comparing Checkatrade vs FatRank, Bark vs FatRank, and Builder Builder vs FatRank. Check those in the description. Speaking of FatRank, what’s your take on lead-generation companies versus trade-people platforms? Kasra Dash: For any lead-generation company, do your due diligence. If you’re in a niche, make sure they’ve actually generated leads in that niche before. Have a strategy call: discuss your budget, the number of leads you want, and KPIs. Also check if the leads are exclusive or shared. Shared leads — like what you get with Bark or Checkatrade — turn into a race to the bottom because everyone is competing on price. Those are important questions to ask before partnering with a lead gen company. James Dooley: If anyone’s interested in generating more local leads, I highly recommend visiting FatRank.com. We provide commission-based lead generation — you only pay a finder’s fee on converted jobs. You don’t pay per lead, you don’t pay until you convert the sale, and only after the job has been completed and paid. Head over to see if you qualify. Now Kasra, what’s your view on inbound vs outbound lead generation? Kasra Dash: I always prefer inbound. The conversion rate — not just for capturing the lead, but converting it into a paying customer — is far higher. The last stat we saw was around 16.1% conversion for inbound versus 1.4% for outbound. James Dooley: That’s wild — basically a 10–12x higher conversion rate for inbound. Kasra Dash: Exactly. Outbound methods like cold calling, cold email, or LinkedIn outreach require huge volume and often more staff. Many people think outbound is “free leads,” but there are still costs — email tools, manpower, and time. James Dooley: And what about real-time leads? Some people want to know how important it is to receive a lead instantly. Kasra Dash: It’s extremely important. Our internal stats showed that real-time leads convert around 63% higher. And responding within under a minute drastically improves conversion. We used to think five minutes was fast — but replying within one minute boosts performance massively. As soon as the inquiry comes in, call or email them immediately with a thank-you and a request for more information.
