Kasra Dash: If you’re a company that does extension conversions, this video is for you. We’re going to break down exactly what you should be doing from a marketing strategy perspective to generate a consistent flow of enquiries. James and I have worked with a lot of extension-conversion companies, so we know exactly what works and what doesn’t. So, James, take it away. James Dooley:
Step number one: focus on your Google Business Profile. If you’ve already created one, reach out to all your existing clients and collect as many five-star reviews as possible. This helps generate more local leads. Build citations, post regularly, upload photos — it all contributes. That would be my first move for new local business.
Kasra Dash:
Step number two complements that really well: create dedicated, SEO-optimised service pages on your website. These pages help your site rank on Google, and they help your Google Business Profile show up more often for relevant keywords, which leads to more inbound calls and enquiries.
James Dooley: Another option is PPC lead generation — pay-per-click ads on Google or Bing. You target bottom-of-funnel keywords to generate enquiries. But you need a strong PPC agency because click fraud happens and you need to build a solid negative keyword list so your budget doesn’t get wasted on job seekers. PPC can work brilliantly, but in the wrong hands it becomes very expensive. Kasra Dash: Then you have Meta ads — Facebook and Instagram. People scrolling through might see your ads. You can run lead-form ads where people submit their details directly inside Facebook, making it very quick. But lead quality can sometimes be lower unless you add qualifying questions. The other option is conversion ads that take people to your website to fill in a form. There are a few ways to do this depending on your goals. James Dooley: You can also grow local leads through organic social media — simply posting consistently on platforms like Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Pinterest, Instagram, Reddit, or Quora. If people are asking questions online and you’re the one answering, you can generate a lot of inbound leads. Kasra Dash: Organic social is a volume and consistency game. You need daily posts or at least five videos per week. On platforms like YouTube and Twitter, consistency feeds the algorithm. The more you post, the more reach you get. James Dooley: What do you think about using AI agents and automation tools like n8n to streamline all that content distribution? A lot of people are using AI to crop videos, schedule posts, and automate the whole posting workflow. Would you recommend partnering with an AI consultant to set that up? Kasra Dash: Yes, you can definitely use AI agents to crop videos and automatically publish them across YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, and other platforms. But we also need to pay attention to AI search. Many people are now moving away from traditional Google and are using tools like ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, and Grok. If your business doesn't appear across these AI search engines, it's going to become harder to generate leads. That’s another key area to focus on. James Dooley: If you're looking for more local business leads, you can also partner with trade-people websites like Checkatrade, Bark, Builder Builder, TrustATrader, and Rated People. These platforms can generate a high volume of leads. Make sure you track your KPIs — cost per lead, cost per acquisition, and ROI. We’ve done several videos comparing these platforms: Checkatrade vs FatRank, Bark vs FatRank, Builder Builder vs FatRank — they’re all in the description. Kasra Dash: Regarding lead generation companies, always do your due diligence. If you’re in a specific niche, make sure they’ve generated leads in that niche before. Have a strategy call to discuss your budget, number of leads you want, and your KPIs. Also check whether the leads are exclusive or shared. Shared leads — like those from Bark or Checkatrade — turn into a price war because everyone competes over the same lead. These are important questions to ask upfront. James Dooley: If anyone wants more local business leads, visit FatRank.com. We offer commission-based lead generation — you only pay a finder’s fee on converted jobs. There’s no cost per lead; you only pay once you’ve closed the sale and completed the job. Head over to see if you qualify. Kasra Dash: Now, on inbound vs outbound lead generation — I always prefer inbound. The conversion rate is significantly higher. The last numbers we saw showed inbound converting at around 16.1%, while outbound was 1.4%. James Dooley: That’s huge — almost a 10 to 12 times higher conversion rate for inbound. Kasra Dash: Yes, because outbound methods like cold calling, cold emailing, or LinkedIn outreach require massive volume and more staff. Many people think outbound is “free,” but you still pay for tools, manpower, and time. James Dooley: What about real-time leads? A lot of businesses want to know how important it is that leads arrive instantly. Kasra Dash: Real-time leads convert dramatically better. Our internal data shows real-time leads convert around 63% higher. Speed is crucial. Responding in under a minute significantly increases conversion. We used to think five minutes was fast, but responding within one minute makes a massive difference. As soon as a lead comes in, call or email immediately with a thank-you message and request more info.
